Safe Transport of Hazardous Cargo
Hazardous loads and goods are transported daily by various means of transport: land, sea, or air. Among them:
- Flammable substances (fuels, solvents)
- Oxidizing substances
- Explosive substances
- Toxic substances
- Flammable gases under pressure
- Hazardous waste
- Corrosive substances
- Radioactive substances
The safety of these transports starts from loading and ends with the delivery to the final destination. Legislation requires companies to designate a Dangerous Goods Safe Transport Advisor (D.G.S.T.A.), who is responsible for preventing the risks associated with the transport of hazardous substances, as well as the loading and unloading operations (Joint Ministerial Decision 64834/5491, Official Gazette 1350 - 7/11/2000).
